Comment Safety (Experimental)

These tools are experimental and improve with high-quality community dictionaries. They assist you while you interact, but are not a full moderation solution.

☝️ Hold Your Finger

Review your comment before posting. The extension checks drafts against the lists you upload.

  • Detects words in your dictionary
  • Shows the matched word
  • Offers a chance to edit before sending

☣️ Filter Toxic Comments

Automatically hides visible comments that match your custom lists while you browse.

  • Hides comments in real time
  • Depends on your uploaded words
  • Works best with strong dictionaries

🔍 Comment Search

Search comments instantly and highlight matches without scrolling through long threads.

  • Search within visible comments
  • Real-time highlighting
  • Fast and responsive
Transparent warning: These protection features are not a replacement for moderation. They only catch terms that appear in your custom dictionaries, so use them as a helpful assist, not a guarantee.
  • Quick tip: You can add words directly from Facebook using the extension's right-click context menu. Select text → Right click → "Add to FB-Refiner (Hard/Soft)" to save words instantly.
  • Where it appears: Words added this way show under Extension Settings → Context Menu lists.

Quick Start

Get FB-Refiner working in seconds with the recommended setup path.

1. Open the floating menu

Click the small FB icon on Facebook to open the extension panel.

2. Enable core filters

Turn on Block Ads, Block Reels, and Keyword Filter for the best feed experience.

3. Optional upload lists

If you want comment protection, import your own dictionary files from the extension settings.

Best practice: Use the extension first for feed cleanup, then only add list-based protection if you want extra filtering. The main feed tools are the priority.
4

Community & Lists

FB-Refiner is community-powered. Import curated `.txt` dictionaries or preview community lists and contribute your own.

Important — Read before use (English):

Community word lists available below are experimental. They may be short, incomplete, or include words that are harmless in some contexts. The extension has been developed and primarily tested for Egyptian Arabic and English. Other languages and lists have not been thoroughly normalized or fuzz-tested; they might work, or they might not. Do not rely on these lists as a complete moderation solution — review lists in your language before importing.

Community rule: Keep lists focused and simple. Complex or abusive lists reduce accuracy and harm the user experience.
